Editorial policy

This page describes how every article, assessment, and tool on BE THE ONE is researched, written, edited, and maintained. If you want to know who is behind what you are reading and how it was built, this is the document.

Who writes our content

Every article is attributed to a named human author with a public profile. Our current editorial team is Valon Asani (founder) and Eduard Luta (author). Author profiles include professional background, focus areas, and verifiable external profiles (LinkedIn, X, Medium). Articles are bylined at the top of the page and linked to the author profile so you can see what else they have written. We do not publish anonymous or ghost-written content under invented author names.

How we research

Every article is built on named primary sources. We cite peer-reviewed journals (via PubMed, Google Scholar, and journal sites directly), well-reviewed books from recognized publishers, and public statements from the researchers themselves. Every statistic and direct quotation is verified to the original source. If we cannot verify a claim to an original source, we remove it rather than cite a secondary source that restated it. Our minimum is two external authoritative citations per article, named in a visible sources section at the bottom of the page.

How AI fits in, and where it does not

We use AI tools for research assistance and outline drafting. We do not use AI to write the final article. Every article is written and edited by a human, reviewed against our checklist, and scanned for the common signals of machine-generated prose before it ships. The goal is to produce content that a human actually wanted to write, that reflects a real point of view, and that earns its place through evidence and specificity rather than volume. We do not ship templated or near-duplicate articles at scale.

How we fact-check

Before any article ships, every factual claim is checked against its original source. Statistics carry the name of the researcher and the year. Direct quotations are reproduced exactly and cited to page or paragraph where possible. Claims about what research says are compared to the actual abstract and findings, not to secondary summaries. Articles that cannot pass fact-check do not ship. If an error is found after publish, we correct the article and update the lastmod date.

How we update older articles

Articles are reviewed on a rolling cycle. When new research materially changes what an article should say, we update it, note the change, and bump the lastmod date in the frontmatter. Cosmetic edits do not bump lastmod. If an article underperforms in traffic and intent match after six weeks live, it enters a review queue and either gets rewritten, merged with a related article, or retired. We would rather have a smaller catalog of strong articles than a larger catalog of weak ones.

What this means for you

When you read something on BE THE ONE, you can assume a named human chose to write it, a named researcher or author is cited for the evidence, and both went through a review before it reached you. If anything on the site looks wrong or a source seems off, email us at [email protected] and we will look at it.
